FAQs
What is Reflex®?
A patented cushioning technology, which uses vacuum-formed cushions to replace traditional flexible foams.

What types of products can Reflex® cushions protect?

Really anything that requires protection from impact. Reflex® cushions are currently protecting:

Hard Drives and CD/DVD Drives for PC's and Laptops
Power Converters
Security Camera's
LCD TV's
Computer Monitors
Telescopes
Microchips
Silicon Wafers
The list goes on

What weight range can Reflex® cushions protect?
Reflex® thermoformed cushions which have successfully protected items weighing less than a few ounces up to 65 lbs.

Do the cushions take up as much space in a warehouse as traditional foam?
Reflex® uses less than 20% of the space required to ship and store molded and fabricated foam cushioning. For example, on one standard pallet, we can fit the packaging for more than 250 personal computers or 3,000 disk drives.

Do the cushions crack or particulate?
Reflex® cushions have never fractured or particulated. Even during extreme tests where the unit was dropped in excess of 100 times with the same cushions.

How do Reflex® cushions compare to foam with respect to price?
The vacuum forming process is highly efficient, with low cost tooling, short cycle times, and low part cost. This allows Reflex® ushions to match or surpass the performance of a foam cushion at a lower cost.

Is the thermoforming process common in other parts of the world?
Thermoforming technology is well established world-wide. Thermoformers make everything from blister packs that your batteries come in to small pools for children, to parts inside your car. They exist everywhere.

The designs seem complicated. Is it expensive to make a prototype?
In most cases we can make a prototype and test it for a few hundred dollars.
